I have downloaded new T@W and looks good, haven't enough time to check all details but there are 2 bigg limitations: 1. All orig. maps with scale factor for examp. 1:1000 will be reduced by T@W defoult 1:5000 (max. zoom level 2 cm red line=100 m on the new app). 2. When downloading larger maps >3 M after 504 looaded chunks app turns off.
Till tomorrow

I don't see how the screen zoom factor does impact the map scale? Your map will still be visible at 1:1000... like it's 1:1000, not 1:5000... What do you mean? Screen zoom level does not affect map scale...

which phone do you use? i just imported a 30.000 x 20.000 pixel map which was about 13.000 chunks.. with no issues...

When you import map image (1:1000) without calibration (.map dat) the image appears 1:1000, as soon as calib. is added the image reduce 5-times to 1:5000. I have only (.png) map importing proplem since i transorm png to jpg ( no problem with importing 13 M jpg file). Using NOKIA 808 PW.

Can you send me an exmaple PNG which does not load? So i can test it. You can find my email in Track@Way.

Also, sorry but i don't understand about the scale issue. The map has a size, after you calibrate it, the map can be shown on the table. At this point, the map scale does not matter anymore! The map is just scaled to fit it's calibrated area! What i mean is, it does not matter the map scale, the only thing it matters is the area covered by the map...

If i have a 1:25.000 map covering 1sqkm or a 1:5000 map covering exactly the same area, both will have exactly the same size on the table! One will be more detailed and the other less, fo course, due to the scale. But the visible size must be absolutely the same, otherwise, you have did something wrong with calibration....

Please let me help understand better this issue.

You're right since the scale of the map is smaller than 1:5000 but I like to see a calibrated map 1:1000 where a 10 m long object appears to be 1 cm long. By the way, when +, - zoom tab is turned off there, blue vertical line remains on the screen.

No it cannot work this way, because it would depend on your phone screen DPI, and this varies along all phones.

It's an interesting feature tough, you can add a feature request from trac.trackaway.org for a future version!
